We use positive reinforcement techniques in our dog training implemented by skilled professional instruction to achieve positive results!

We concentrate on building strong dog & owner relationships

       We are excited to offer what we feel are the essentials in a solid training program. Our trainer graduated in the top 3% of trainers from one of the top ranked dog trainer schools. She applies her knowledge and technique into every class she teaches to develop strong dog owner relationships and skills.

This class taught in a private class situation is for the young puppy who has not received all vaccines yet. House Training, Nipping, Chewing, Crate Training and Jumping Up are just a few of the items we cover in this beginning stage  of training.

FEATURED DOGS AND PUPPIES

Little MEADOW and MAVERICK are two very bright Australian Shepherds who started training very young and excelled in their group puppy obedience sessions at Kristy's K9 Training. Great job!

ZEAL is a 2 year old white American Eskimo. He is a very intelligent and personable guy whose owner has taught him how to speak to him and ask for his treat rewards. He has excelled at platform training and is doing off leash obedience. Way to go ZEAL!

     ADDY is a very smart one year old miniature Papillon who has displayed excellent obedience skills and learning specialized skills to assist her owner while training at Kristy's K9 Training. Keep up the good work ADDY!

      KOE a 9 month old part German Shepherd and his owner did an outstanding job mastering the Obedience Skills Class while training at Kristy's K9 Training.

About Us

        Over 30 years working with dogs.  Kristy Baugher, a Certified Obedience Instructor, AKC CGC Evaluator, AKC Temperament Evaluator, and AKC Fit Dog Instructor and the owner of Kristy's K9 Training LLC, began her experience soon after high school when she began training dogs under the guidance and mentoring of an AKC confirmation judge and dog trainer.  She attended AKC sanctioned events throughout the years and gained invaluable handling experience along with obtaining numerous confirmation awards with her dogs. That experience and life passion for working with dogs has since developed into training and owning registered TDI Therapy Dogs, AKC title holders in multi-level Trick Dog, S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Temperament Testing, AKC Achiever Dog and more.

       Kristy is an alumni college member and an honors graduate completing her work at one of the top ranked dog trainer colleges in the U.S.  Pet CPR and Pet First Aid Certified, and Kristy's K9 Training LLC is currently a registered AKC Fit Dog Club. Besides training obedience, she has also been involved in the training of rescue dogs, service support dog tasks, therapy dogs and disc dogs. She has also assisted training blind and deaf dogs. She is also Certified in Canine, Feline and Exotic Animal Care and is a Certified Pet Sitter.  She continues to broaden her knowledge by attending seminars and further training. Having worked for years also as a 911 Police/Fire/EMS Dispatcher and EMT on an ambulance squad, Kristy has developed emergency skills that have proven invaluable when quick thinking is needed when working around certain animal behaviors and situations.

Yes.  We offer one on one training for puppies who do not have full immunity built up , reactive dogs who are learning to be around other dogs and people, and for anyone who feels they are more comfortable in a private class setting.

Yes. Although we do use assistance from helpers who are knowledgeable and have experience with dogs to do many tasks, classes are only taught by a certified trainer.

For the past two and a half years we have practiced masking and disinfecting.  We are proud of all the customers that have trained with us who happily wore masks and rescheduled because of illness. We are happy to report that because of everyone's cooperation we did not have a single incident of having to delay any classes because of the virus.. Our customer's have understood that waiting until customers and dogs enter and exit was designed for everyone's safety.

We take a proactive approach in answering, clarifying/resolving any training, etc. issues or questions immediately and work with our customers. Owner satisfaction is extremely important and it has always been our priority.
